Bishop Kurt L. Thompson is one of the most sought after Conference and Convention speakers in the Central Texas. He is a prolific teacher with an insightful, pastoral heart and a special evangelistic boldness. He presents the uncompromising gospel with clarity and effectively teaches the appropriation of the Word of God.

He was born and reared in Houston, Texas and attended Houston public schools. He is a graduate of Texas Christian University holding a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. He also attended the C. H. Mason System of Bible colleges on a scholarship from the Business and Professional Women’s Federation of Texas Southeast First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. In 1991, He organized the Assemblage of Praise Church in Bryan, Texas.

Bishop Thompson is currently the pastor of 2 churches; Hampton Memorial Church of God in Christ of Crockett, TX and Houston's Community Temple Church of God In Christ in Houston, TX.

He ministers extensively in revivals and conferences throughout the nation and is seen weekly on Cable Channel TV 16 in Crockett, Texas and Houston, County.

Bishop Thompson’s ministry has taken Him to over 150 plus Cities, 49 States. He serves as Deputy Commissioner of Security for the Church of God In Christ, Inc. Bishop Thompson is married to the talented Kimberly Reed-Thompson who is a renowned psalmist in her own right.
